Habitify is a polished habit tracker: a clean daily list, reminders that can follow another habit or your location, an Off mode for breaks, and apps for iPhone, iPad, Mac, Apple Watch, Android and the web. People go looking for an alternative mostly for one of these reasons: the free plan stops at three habits, the paid plans are subscriptions, the Apple Health sync they wanted is in the top tier, or streaks and charts stopped being enough of a reason to open the app.
Since April 2026 Habitify has two paid tiers in the iPhone app: Plus ($29.99 a year in the US) for unlimited habits, and Pro ($8.99 a month, $49.99 a year or $119.99 lifetime) for Apple Health sync and advanced insights (our Habitify review has the details). Here are five alternatives by what you’d switch for. One of them is ours, Habit Rewards; we’ve tried to describe the others fairly.
| If you want… | Try |
|---|---|
| To pay once, with Apple Watch and Apple Health included | Streaks |
| A free start and a lifetime option, with a grid per habit | HabitKit |
| Everything free, on Android | Loop Habit Tracker |
| Everything free, as a game you can play with friends | Habitica |
| A reward for every habit you keep, on iPhone and Android | Habit Rewards |
1. Streaks: pay once, Health included
Streaks is an Apple Design Award winner for iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch and Mac. It’s a one-time $5.99 with no subscription, and its Health app link (ticking off steps, water or a workout by itself) is included in that price, which is the feature Habitify keeps for Pro. It tracks up to 24 tasks a day, each a big round button, and also does negative tasks, timed tasks and widgets.
Good for: Apple users who want Habitify’s polish and Health sync without a subscription.
Less good if: you need Android or the web, or want to try before you pay: there’s no free version (free Streaks alternatives).
2. HabitKit: a free start and a lifetime option
HabitKit shows each habit as a year-long grid of tiles that fills in day by day, with goals like “3 times a week”. It works offline with no account and runs on iPhone and Android. The free version covers up to four habits, one more than Habitify’s; Pro adds unlimited habits, widgets and backups, as a subscription or a one-time lifetime purchase.
Good for: people who like seeing the whole year and would rather buy once than renew.
Less good if: you want an Apple Watch app, a web app or free widgets (HabitKit alternatives).
3. Loop Habit Tracker: everything free, on Android
Loop is free and open source, with no ads, no in-app purchases and no habit limit. It has home-screen widgets that check a habit off with one tap, and instead of a plain streak it gives each habit a strength score that grows with every check-in and dips when you miss, so one bad day doesn’t wipe out months.
Good for: Android users who don’t want to pay anything, ever.
Less good if: you’re on iPhone: Loop is Android only (the closest picks for iPhone).
4. Habitica: everything free, as a game
Habitica turns your habits, dailies and to-dos into a role-playing game: finished tasks earn gold and experience, missed dailies cost health, and you can join a party with friends to fight bosses together. The whole app is free on iPhone, Android and the web; the subscription is optional.
Good for: people who need stakes and company to keep going.
Less good if: you liked Habitify because it’s calm and minimal (Habitica vs Habitify).
5. Habit Rewards: rewards instead of more charts
This one’s ours. It has the basics you’d expect from Habitify (daily, weekly or monthly habits, reminders, a done/skipped/failed calendar, current and longest streaks, and home-screen widgets) and adds a reason to come back: every habit pays coins by how hard it is (1, 4, 8 or 16), and you spend them on rewards you write and price yourself, like a coffee out, a new book or an evening off. One-off tasks pay coins too. On a day you can’t manage a habit, 10 coins buy a Skip and the streak survives.
It’s on iPhone and Android, free for three habits and three rewards (tasks don’t count toward the three), with free widgets. Pro removes the limits. Like Habitify, Pro is a subscription.
Good for: people for whom streaks and charts stopped working, and anyone who already treats themselves and would rather earn it.
Less good if: you want Apple Watch, Mac, a web app or Apple Health sync: Habit Rewards has none of these.
Which one?
If price is the reason, Streaks is the cheapest over time on Apple devices and Loop costs nothing on Android; Habitica is free everywhere if you like games. If three free habits feel tight, HabitKit gives you four and a lifetime option. And if what you’re missing isn’t a feature but a reason, put a reward at the end of every habit: that’s what Habit Rewards is for.
